The primary care service at OSU's Veterinary Medical Hospital provides excellent wellness care for small animals and treatment for problems your pet may encounter.
Wellness Care
Regular checkups provide an opportunity to keep your pet current on vaccinations, flea and tick control, weight management and more. It also helps your veterinarian detect any medical issues, which when detected early could prevent more serious problems later. Routine care provided includes:
- Rabies and other common infectious disease prevention through proper vaccination programs
- Flea and tick control
- Heartworm testing and prevention
- Weight management
- Dental examination and proper teeth cleaning and prophylaxis to prevent more serious
teeth and gum disease
Problem Visits
In addition to wellness care, the Primary Care service also treats common problems your pets may encounter. Some examples of common problems treated at the hospital include:
- Itching
- Vomiting
- Diarrhea
- Coughing
- Limping
- Frequent Urination
